● 展覽介紹 Exhibition Statement：
攝影進入當代後，藝術家們試圖尋找一種有別於平面的展現與觀看方式，於是以書為載體的攝影作品形式逐漸廣為使用。有別於傳統攝影集的出版形式，當代攝影藝術家更喜歡以手作裝幀的方式，加入跳脫平面的思考設計進入作品中做為輔助平面攝影有更多感官延展的呈現。除此之外，藝術家也善用小誌輕巧便利的特性作為作品概念輸出及廣泛傳播的手段。藝術家書籍以及攝影小誌皆具備內容、書籍形式高度自由的特性，不僅打破傳統對於「書」的理解，同時也藉由將攝影作品製作成「書」而成為一個跳脫攝影侷限於平面的視覺感官體驗。光盒作用將在展區內呈現包含「裝置性」、「材質性」、「互動性」等不同特性的攝影藝術書籍，這些作品不僅保有攝影本身對於影像的重視、內容的敘事，並且奠基於此更發透過「書」這個媒介的構造特性，發展出不同面向的視覺之外的感官呈現。

With the rise of contemporary photography, using books as the medium has gradually become a common means for photographers to find a way of presentation and viewing that is different from the two-dimensional display. Unlike the traditional way of publishing photography albums, contemporary photographers prefer to integrate handmade book design into the idea of going beyond the two-dimensional settings, aiming to present more sensory extension of two-dimensional images. Additionally, artists also skillfully exploit the handy and convenient characteristics of zines to present and circulate the ideas and concepts of their works. In their books and photographic zines, artists maintain the freedom of contents and presentation characterized by books. Apart from revolutionizing the traditional stereotype of “book”, they have turned these “photographic books” into visual sensory experience beyond the two-dimensional setting of photography. At the exhibition zone, Photosynthesis will present photographic books containing the characteristics of “installation”, “material”, and “interaction”. In addition to retaining the importance of image and narration of contents inherited in photography, these works also present a sensory experience that is different from that of the visual effect of photography through this medium—book.

● 參展單位介紹 Exhibitor Introduction：
光盒作用 Photosynthesis 是由大氣科學博士暨攝影藝術家 Jerry 與另外兩位同為曾為台大攝影社社長的攝影藝術家，和一位北藝大美術所碩畢攝影家所創辦。Jerry 以自身同為創作者的經歷，藉由光盒作用基地提供更多創作者們討論以及嘗試性作品實踐的平台。同時也希望透過不同工作坊的舉辦，讓想初嘗創作的學員可以透過已有成熟作品的藝術家們的帶領，進行初淺的創作實踐。目前光盒作用也致力於“書”做為攝影創作實踐載體的討論與推廣，以書籍作為微型空間的角度切入，透過工作坊以及梳理分析攝影書籍作品帶領觀眾找尋攝影從平面延伸出的任何可能性。

Photosynthesis was established by Jerry, a PhD in atmospheric sciences and a photographic artist; two other photographic artists who were former chairpersons of the NTU Photography Society; and a photographer graduating from the Department of Fine Arts, Taipei National University of the Arts. Based on his own artist experience, Jerry discusses with more artists and experiments his works at Photosynthesis. By organizing various workshops, he hopes that beginner photographers can realize their photographic ideas through the guidance of artists with mature works. Currently, Photosynthesis is committed to the discussion and promotion of using “book” as the medium of realization of photographic works. With these efforts, it aims to lead the audience to find all possibilities arising from the two-dimensional display of photography through the micro-space of book, workshops, and collation and analysis of photographic books and works.
