FAQ

Q 1 According to the rules, contest entries must not have been publicly exhibited. However, can works that have been posted on private Facebook pages, blogs or shared on personal web sites be submitted?
A 1 Contest entries may not have won any other competition. If your entry was shared on Facebook, a blog or personal website, or if it was previously submitted to a contest but did not win an award, then this work is not subject to this limitation and may be entered. However, if the work was previously published in a magazine, this would be deemed as public exhibition and the work would not be not eligible to be entered in the competition.
Q 2 Does sign and chop the “Contest Agreement” mean both signing your name and chopping your stamp?
A 2 Either sign or chop.
Q 3 If I took a photography course and the photograph was exhibited in the course achievements exhibition, does this count as “public exhibition”?
A 3 If the photo was only used in the course achievements expo and was not entered in a course competition, then it may be submitted.
Q 4 What is the “Contest Agreement”?
A 4 If your work is awarded, the organizer will have the right to use your winning work in exhibition materials. Carefully read the contest participation rules before deciding whether or not to participate in the contest. If your work is not selected for an award, the agreement has no legal effect. The creator of the winning work may submit an application to the organizer thereafter if he/she needs to assert their creative property rights. The organizer may not refuse to such an agreement without justification.
Q 5 Must the “Contest Agreement” form be filled out?
A 5 Yes. Include the form with your submitted entry. The agreement takes effect when an entry is a confirmed award winner. If an entry does not win an award, the copyright remains with the artist (contestant).
