入選 Selected Work Award

拍下城市的影子,也拍下人們的影子;

This series of pictures was taken in the spring of 2012 in New York City.
Human beings are such strange creatures. The bigger city we live in, the lonelier and more isolated we tend to feel.
To me, I am just someone who takes photos of things he notices in the streets and alleys of the cities. I make a visual record of people, things and their reflections and try to show the hardships, adversity and estrangement they all suffer who somehow have resigned themselves to their solitude and isolation.
I would like to thank the judges for acknowledging my work. I take it as encouragement to continue with photography.

New York
Experience:

It has been three years since I first got into photography. I think I have been very lucky that my family and my friends have all been very open-minded and supportive. Otherwise, I could hardly have continued to pursue this interest.
However, there is still an awful lot I have to learn. Photography is an art and a craft, and so far I have barely scratched the surface of what there is to know and understand.
Lately, while browsing the Internet, I come across the words of a senior photographer: “Like all other arts, in the end photography comes down to one single thing: growth and cultivation of our character.” After reading his article, I have to say that I agree with his assessment. My work is far from mature, yet I hope you will be able to appreciate what good there is in it. And I expect to learn more and make progress every year.
