漂流物的告白|謝雅桂

我喜歡旅行,因為會遇到不同的人,留下不同的故事,而漂流物就像是隨著海浪穿梭漫長時空的旅行者。如果漂流物也能說話,那又會是一段什麼樣的故事?因此我開始記錄並替他們取名字:等待女孩的紅鞋、少了另一伴的綠手套、90年代的錄影帶、被遺忘的工人鞋、厭惡世人眼光的魚。
告白有「自白」的意思,但並不是真的開口說話,而是由時間和海浪在他們身上寫下的自白,藉由攝影向大眾訴說他們的過去,你會發現他們都不屬於這片沙洲,有些屬於大海,有些屬於垃圾場,而有些則屬於某些人。
I like to travel because you meet different people with different stories. Flotsam is like a traveler of the ocean currents across long periods of time. If flotsam could speak, what kind of story would it tell? It was in this way that I started to document and choose names for pieces of flotsam: Waiting for a girl’s red shoe, missing the other green glove, 90s video tape cassette, the forgotten worker’s shoe, a fish with a vision of hating the world. To confess also means to “come clean”, but these confessions aren’t just spoken out but also inscribed on their bodies by time and the waves which then conveys their past by photography to the public at large. You can realize that they don’t come from this sand bar. Some come from the great ocean, some come from the garbage dump, and yet others come from to certain people.
